Bread Pudding

With chocolate chips

I had several home made buns left over from dinner a few nights ago, so I turned them into a delicious bread pudding. It’s so simple to make and helps prevent food waste!

Recipe

5-6 slices day+ old bread (or I used 3 large buns for this one)

1/8 cup melted butter

1/3 cup mini chocolate chips (if desired)

2 cups milk (divided)

1/3 cup granulated white sugar

1/3 cup honey

3 large eggs

1 1/2 tsp ground cinamon

1 tsp vanilla extract

Bake temp: 350F

Bake Time: 45-55 min

  1. Cube up bread into 1-1/2” pieces and add them to a baking pan (around 9×9 or slightly smaller)
  2. Pour melted butter over cubed bread, add mini chocolate chips (if desired), and then aprox half the milk (1 cup). Allow the bread to soak while mixing other ingredients.
  3. To a separate bowl, add the rest of the milk (1 cup), sugar, honey, eggs, cinnamon and vanilla. Whisk until combined.
  4. Pour milk/egg mixture over cubed bread. Squish the top of the bread down so it all is soaking up the milk/egg mixture.
  5. Bake at 350F for 45-55 minutes, until the edges are starting to crisp. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes before serving. It is also great cold!

Enjoy!
